Species Information

Description

A small species of frog reaching up to nearly 3 cm in body length. It has a dark or light brown back, with light or dark brown patches. There is a light brown patch on the head, and an orange-brown stripe on the lower back. The belly has black and white marbling. There are orange-brown patches on the top of the arms at the shoulders and the fronts of the thighs. The pupil is nearly round, and the iris is gold. Fingers and toes are unwebbed, both without discs.

Habitats

Occurs in rocky gorges in arid areas.

Breeding Biology

Eggs have yet to be documented, but tadpoles are up to about 40mm total length, mottled brownish and round bodied. They appear to be mostly bottom-dwellers. Breeds opportunistically, autumn to spring
